{the police concert!}

well i love my best friend hayley who surprised me with tickets to the police concert for saturday!! let me say- those guys are old (you can tell by how hard they had to breathe to get through some songs, and the just general oldness of them) but man can they still play! they've still got it for sure! :]

we started out night by going to target and playing in the circle in the big red wall. so fun! who knew it even existed?!

well we sit in line to even get to the parking lot FOREVER and when we get to the first little parking guy of course i use my flexibility and put my foot with the boot out the window and say "can we park a little closer than all the way out in the boonies because i have a hard time walking" he shyly looks around and then says "go ahead. just don't tell anyone." yay parking guy! unfortunately we don't have a picture with him because we had to be sneaky to park 3 cars away from the front gates :]

we were about 12 rows back and a little to the left of the stage at the wonderful usana ampitheater (it's not so wonderful because it's WAY far out there... i mean WAY WAY far away from life!) we made friends with the people around us when we got there. a cute 50 year old lady who taught me if i ever want to sneak tequila into a concert- just put it in your husbands underwear! and just some fun people behind us. well then we see the first thing we can't stop laughing about... the hippies. i'm not even kidding. here's proof! 2 rows in front of us were the hippies and they were funny! poor couple probably did 1 too many drugs in their lives and are probably always on an acid trip. here's the pictures with the hippies! (check out the wedge of shorts up his butt!)

here's the picture with the 50 year old tequila lady!

and with the people behind us who had our back when we had a creeper hit on us!!

well hayley's parents were up on the lawn with work buddies. two of the girls wanted to switch us for a bit so they could see the very attractive sting up close. hayley and i found a nice wide open spot on the lawn to dance- so naturally we start busting out the moves! even me in my walking boot! then 6 or 7 boys start dancing with us and we sit down next to hayley's dad. well one of them sits next to me and says, "do you smoke weed?" me-"umm...no" him-"are you sure?" me-"ya" him-"alrighty then. well... i'm going to go dance again." AWKWARD! but of course since we were documenting everything about the evening we had to get a picture!

the concert ends, we but t-shirts, and go on our way to the car. we get out of the parking lot successfully and begin the wait in the hideous line of cars ahead of us (can i say that the people who designed that place didn't think the getting there and exiting through very well!) we're rocking out to our fun dancing music so we can be pumped and stay awake for the loong drive home. the car in front of us stops. we stop. the car behind us stops. the next car doesn't stop and pushes the guy behind us into us. lucky us we didn't hit the person in front of us!! so we pull over and assess damage. i call my parents. then the cops. we wait 40 minutes for a cop to even show up! then we have to go through what happened, give him all our information (which i'm glad i could find!!) and fill out the ridiculous paperwork. the middle car was such a great family that we made friends with! (you can read her blog here!) we were connected with ballet (of course!) and hockey and the church. it was great they were so sweet and made the waiting time (while we all thought the cop was playing solitare on his computer) so much fun.. well as fun as waiting in this situation can be! she got my blog address so she could steal the picture we got with them. so this is how i came to blog again! :]

we got home at about 1:30am safe and sound. we stopped at a shady 7.11 and used the WORST restroom i've even been in during my whole life! it was a great night that made for good stories and a good blog startback (again).
