I always feel weird writing about myself. It's not like I'm super interesting or anything, or like I have any fantastic stories to tell. It's probably because I look at all these fantastic bloggers (see my sidebar section of blog jealousy to get a hint) and think that I don't have anything to share.

It's been forever. I know. But with my new computer, I will hopefully be better and updating this silly thing. The name of my blog changes every 5 minutes because I can't think of something. Well here it is: UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. I feel like that's a good slogan for my life. I am where I am... until further notice. So maybe this one will stick.
My hard and testing past 2 days.
Can I just tell you I've had it coming? I know I have. I guess in my subconscious, I was just waiting to get pulled over. Here's the series of unfortunate events that took place in the last 48 hours:
I was driving home from work in town. I wasn't speeding, I didn't do anything illegal (well at least as far as operating and driving the vehicle in the moment). I was the luck of the draw- just the one car the police officer decided to run a report on my plates.
He pulls me over. Oh did I so know I was in big trouble already. Why?
1. Registration expired 12/09
2. Registration is not in my name (title was given to me in 12/09)
3. No insurance (I know.. this is huge and ugly and not right on SO many levels)
4. I was already crabby because I was hungry!
So, he asks why I haven't taken care of these things yet. I explain that's it's a matter of having money, that I don't have, and my job is failing to give me hours to make money (WHOLE different story... let's not go in to it now). I also tell him that I drive very little and take the bus/get rides. He goes and "runs some reports" to see what's going on and what he can do. I, of course, am already in tears.
He comes back. Explains that he is supposed to impound my car for improper registration and no insurance, but hands me back my papers and drivers license and starts to tell me to get it taken care of. I am feeling so relieved and plan on taking care of everything as soon as I get home. That is until big mean Mr. Supervisor comes driving up and motions for nice Mr. Policeman to come talk to him. Mr. P explains the situation to Mr. S. Mr. S doesn't talk to me or anything, and says loud enough for me to hear, "You're going to impound her car." Mr. P does not give me any citations though, which was nice, I guess. No Insurance: $1000. Improper Registration: $200.
Oh. My. Goodness. Impound?! I'm imagining me having to ride to my house in the police car and be dropped off. Scary thought. Luckily Nic came and picked me up, I couldn't even talk to tell him what happened. All I could do was cry. I thought I would never get this worked out. I did my research, found my options, and spent all of today on the phone with the insurance company, and at the DMV fighting the ladies. Then I had to go to the stinky impound lot and get in my car that now smells of cigarettes because that whole place and all of those people stink of smoke.
But in the end I learned an important lesson- don't drive without insurance/registration.
It's all taken care of now. Too bad I owe rent and need to pay my phone bill this next week. That's where I'll have some problems!

well i love my best friend hayley who surprised me with tickets to the police concert for saturday!! let me say- those guys are old (you can tell by how hard they had to breathe to get through some songs, and the just general oldness of them) but man can they still play! they've still got it for sure! :]
